Etapp KWA – Apply Online For New Water Connection In Kerala

The Etapp KWA or etap KWA app is one of the key outcomes of the Kerala state government’s digitization efforts. It is managed by the Kerala Water Authority.

This Etap KWA online web portal makes it easy for citizens to apply for a new water connection without having to wait in queues. Applications may now be submitted online. 

Future plans include adding provisions for the submission of sewerage connection applications as well. There is currently no provision for Etapp KWA ownership change online.

How to do Etapp KWA registration

To submit an application for a KWA Etap connection, citizens must open an account with their personal details.

You will need to enter your name, mobile number, email address and a password to register. Each email address and phone number can be linked to only one account. 

Once an account has been registered, users can use their email address and password for Etapp KWA Kerala login.

How to submit an application on the Etapp KWA portal online?

The Etap Kerala Water Authority app makes it very easy for citizens in Kerala to submit an application for a new water connection. Here’s what you need to do:

Step 1: Visit the KWA website.

Step 2: Log in to your account with your registered email address and password.

Step 3: Click on the link to apply for a new water connection.

Step 4: Type in your phone number followed by the OTP received via SMS.

Step 5: Select your district, local self-government and area. Enter your Aadhaar number, the nearest landmark and mark the requested new connection location on the map.

Step 6: Enter your personal details and complete street address with the connection category and the nearest water authority customer number (if applicable).

Step 7: Upload documentary proof of identity and a copy of the ownership certificate. If a new connection is requested for a location where the owner is abroad, a copy of the owner’s ration card may be required. In the case of the applicant being a tenant, a power of attorney certificate may be needed. 

Step 8: Select the ‘yes’ or ‘no’ option depending on the need for a plumber’s service, agree to the terms and conditions and click on the submit button.

How to pay the application fee on the Etapp KWA?

An application fee is payable when your application has been processed. The amount payable is communicated via SMS or can be checked through the Etapp KWA app. Here’s what you need to do:

Step 1: Log in to the app and view the connection application status. 

Step 2: Scroll past the application details and click on the Pay Online button. Payment can be made through credit/ debit cards, UPI, cash cards or internet banking.

How to track the status of an application on the Etapp portal?

Applicants can track the status of their application from the KWA Etap portal.

Applicants must log in to their account and click on the Water Connection tab from the Consumer dashboard.
