The service is available to domestic as well as partly commercial consumers living in the corporation of Chennai. Consumers of the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewage Board (CMWSSB) can book water tankers online using their CMC Number and registered mobile number.
You can choose tankers of various capacities (6000 liters, 9000 liters, and 16,00 liters), choose a delivery slot, and make the payment. For Chennai metro water online payment, you can use credit cards, debit cards, or net banking.

How to book Chennai metro water online?
You can book metro water online in Chennai by following the steps given below:
Step 1: Go to the Chennai metro water online booking registration page.
Step 2: You must first register your mobile number to do Chennai metro water booking. For that, enter your CMC Number (Consumer Number) in the fields as shown in the image given below:
Important Note: Your CMC Number will be in the following format: Zone Number/Ward Number/Bill Number/Sub Code (Example: 04/04/10540/000). Since the water connection in Chennai is linked to the property, the CMC Number is the same as your property ID/property bill number.
Step 3: The consumer registration page with your name and address will appear > Enter your mobile number > Click on the Generate OTP button > You will get an OTP on your mobile number > Enter the OTP > Click on Register. Your mobile number is now successfully registered.
Important Note: You will be taken to the consumer registration page only if you have paid your Chennai metro water tax. If you have any arrears, you can do Chennai metro water online booking only after clearing the dues.
Step 3: To book a Chennai metro water tanker, enter your mobile number in the fields as shown in the image below > Click on Generate OTP > Enter the OPT.
Step 4: The Chennai metro water online booking page will appear > Choose the date for water delivery > Choose the liters (6000 liters / 9000 liters / 16,000 liters) > Click on the Pay button.
Important Note: If you are a customer living in a multi-storied building, you are allowed to book 6000, 9000, or 16,000 liters of water. If you are living in a non-multi-storied building, you can book only 6000 or 9000 liters of water.
Step 5: Proceed to make Chennai metro water online payment using net banking, debit cards, or credit cards.
Note: Please make sure to complete the transaction within 15 minutes of clicking the Pay button. If you see the message ‘Payment Queue Already Full’, click the Check Status button till the payment option becomes available.
Step 6: Once you have successfully made your Chennai metro water online payment, you will get the receipt with the transaction and booking details. You will also get an acknowledgment SMS with these details. You can use the booking number to check the status of your booking.
