Yes. The KR Puram-Whitefield route of the Bangalore Metro is now operational. It is part of the Purple Line.

Bangalore Metro parking charges are as follows:
·  Two wheelers – INR 15 for the first 4 hours; INR 5 per hour after that. Maximum parking charges per day is INR 30.
·  Cars – INR 30 for the first 4 hours; INR 10 per hour after that. Maximum parking charges per day is INR 60.
· Commercial vehicle (light) – INR 75 for the first 4 hours; INR 25 per hour after that. Maximum parking charges per day is INR 150.

You can get a Bangalore metro smart card by following the steps given below:
·  Visit the nearest Namma metro railway station.
·  Go to the ticket counter.
·  Buy a Bengaluru metro smart card by paying INR 50, which is the one-time card fee.
·  Recharge your card at the counter by paying the amount you wish to add to your account. You can also recharge your Namma Metro card online. Check the next question to see how to do Namma Metro card recharge online.
· The minimum recharge/top-up value is INR 50, and the maximum value is INR 3000.
· After recharging the card, you can start using it for multiple trips.
The card will be scanned at the entry and exit gates. The journey fare will be deducted from your Bengaluru metro smart card account while you exit.

You can recharge your Namma Metro card both online and offline. Given below are the most popular methods for Bengaluru metro card recharge:

Yes. You can recharge your Bangalore metro smart card online through the official Bangalore Metro Recharge Portal or the mobile app of BMRCL (Namma Metro App). You can also do the top-up through Paytm.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do the BMRCL recharge through the portal and mobile app.

1.      Bengaluru Metro recharge online through the BMRCL website

Step 1: Visit the BMRCL website.
Step 2: Choose the Quick Top Up option. (You can also recharge your Bangalore metro smart card by registering on the website and creating an account.)

Step 3: Enteryour engraved ID> Enter the recharge amount > Enter your name, email ID, and mobile number > Enter captcha > Click on the Next button.

Step 4: Choose a payment method (credit card, debit card, UPI, or net banking).

Step 5: You will be redirected to the payment page. Enter your card/UPI/net banking details and complete the transaction.
Step 6: Upon successful recharge, your Bangalore metro card recharge details will be shown on the page. Save the details and transaction ID for future reference.

Step 7: To complete the recharge process, you must present your card at the Automatic Entry Gate (AG) of any metro station after 1 hour and within 7 days of recharge. The recharge amount will be reflected in your account.

2.      Bangalore metro card recharge through Namma Metro App

Step 1: Download the official Namma Metro app. Currently, only the Android version is available. 
Step 2: Open the app > Click on the Top Up icon > You will be asked to register on the app through mobile OTP verification.

Step 3: Enter your mobile number > Get OTP > You will receive the OTP on your mobile number > Enter OTP.

Step 4: The registration screen will appear. Enter your name > Enter your email ID > Click on the Save button.

Step 5: The home screen will appear > Click on the Top Up icon > Click on the Add Card button to add your Namma Metro smart card details.

Step 6: Enter your engraved card ID > Save.

Step 7: The status of your card and your Bangalore metro card balance will be shown on the screen > Click on the Top Up button to proceed with recharging your account. 

Step 8: Enter the amount > Confirm.  

Step 9: Choose a payment method (debit or credit card, UPI, net banking, etc.)

Step 10: Enter the required details and complete the transaction. After the successful recharge of your Bangalore metro card, you will get an on-screen acknowledgment with the transaction ID.
Step 11: Make sure to visit the automatic gate (AG) at any Bangalore metro station and present your card to complete the BMRCL recharge process. It should be done after 60 minutes and within 7 days of the recharge. The top-up amount will then be reflected in your account.

Yes. You can. To recharge your Namma Metro card using Paytm, Open Paytm app > Go to Recharge and Pay Bills > Choose Metro > Choose Bangalore Metro > Enter your card number and the amount > Procced > Complete the transaction using your preferred mode of payment.

The minimum balance for Bengaluru metro smart card is INR 50.

The validity of your Bengaluru Metro smart card is 10 years. However, after the recharge, you must tap it at the automatic entry/exit gates of any station (that is, use the card for at least one journey) after 60 minutes and within 7 days.

If you fail to do this, the money on your card will lapse.
If you couldn’t present your card at the entry/exit gates within 7 days, you can visit the customer care center at any metro station and request a manual update within 60 days of the recharge.

Currently, the BMRCL website doesn’t have any feature that allows you to check your Bangalore metro smart card balance online. However, you can check the balance amount on your card in the following ways:
At the entry/exit gates: You can scan your card at the entry/exit gates of any metro station. Your Bengaluru metro smart card balance will be shown on the scanner screen.

Through the Bangalore Metro app: Download the app > Register on the app through OPT verification >  After registration, click on Top Up > Enter your card number > Click on the Save button > You can now see the status of your card (active or not) and your Namma metro card balance. Check the image given below to know where you see your Namma Metro card balance.

Currently, the Bengaluru metro starting time is 7.00 am on all days for both Green and Purple lines. It is the modified time due to the pandemic.

No. Currently, Bangalore metro trains don’t go to the Kempegowda International Airport. The Bangalore Airport Line has been proposed and cleared, and the construction is yet to begin.   

Yes. Namma Metro app is the official mobile application of Bangalore metro. The app is currently available for Android users. You can use the app for the following:

3. View the Metro Map
4. Get the the Metro fare between two stations

The closing time of Bengaluru Metro is 9:00 pm on all days, including weekends and public holidays. The last train from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic Metro Station) to all terminals is at 9:30 pm.

The timings of Bangalore Metro on Sundays are from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm in the night.

The Bengaluru Metro timings on Saturdays are from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.

8. Acids and other corrosives
9. Oxidizing substances
10. Tear gas
11. Pet birds or animals
12. Other prohibited items like carcasses of dead animals, human ashes, unsealed raw meat or fish, manure, unsealed plant saplings, etc.

Metro Mitra is an app exclusively for Bangalore Metro passengers to book autos from metro stations. The objective of the app is to offer last-mile connectivity to passengers. Those who book autos using Metro Mitra need to pay only the meter charge and a flat charge of INR 10 per ride. 

The app is brought to users by the Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union (ARDU) in collaboration with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The Metro Mitra app is available for use from 6th September 2023. Using this app, you can book rides from a network of ARDU-verified drivers. 

One of the unique features is that passengers need not download the Metro Mitra app. Auto drivers will be equipped with the app, though. You can book autos through Metro Mitra using the QR codes displayed at Bangalore Metro station premises. You will receive a link with instructions – follow the instructions on the link and book autos.

ARDU plans to integrate the Metro Mitra app with the Bangalore Metro WhatsApp chatbot available at 8105556677). Once done, you can also book autos through the WhatsApp chatbot. 

To book autos using the Metro Mitra app, you don’t have to download the app. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to book autos through Metro Mitra from Bangalore metro stations:
Step 1: After arriving at the metro station, look for the Metro Mitra QR code displayed on the premises.
Step 2: Scan the QR code using your smartphone. 
Step 3: The code will redirect you to a link where you can see all major landmarks within 5 km of the metro station.
Step 4: Choose the landmark nearest your destination and confirm the ride. 
Step 5: You will receive an OTP for the ride. You will also receive details of the driver and vehicle. 
Step 6: Share the OTP with the driver and start the ride.
Note: The app currently allows you to book autos from metro stations – you cannot use the app to book rides to metro stations.

Metro Mitra operates on the meter charge system. Passengers who book autos using Metro Mitra will have to pay only the meter fare for the distance they travel. Metro Mitra users will also have to pay an extra flat charge of INR 10 per trip towards app maintenance and trip pick-up fees. 

Currently, the meter fare in Bangalore is INR 30 (a base fare) for the first 2 kilometers and INR 15 for each additional kilometer.
